본 논문은 4차 산업혁명이 전쟁·군사 패러다임에 미치는 영향과 한국군의 군사혁신 방책을 제시했다. 오늘날 4차 산업혁명을 견인하는 첨단 기술을 활용하는 차세대 군사혁신의 가능성과 지향 방향이 탐색되고 있다. 4차 산업혁명의 핵심적 원리는 초연결성과 초지능성이다. 주요 군사 선진국들의 첨단 무기체계 개발 동향 등을 분석해 보면, 그 핵심에 정보·감시·정찰혁명, 원거리·초정밀·초고속 미사일 혁명, 정찰-타격 복합체 혁명, 미사일 방어 혁명, 우주무기 혁명, 사이버전 혁명, 지향성에너지 무기 및 비살상 무기 혁명, 무인 자율 무기체계 혁명 등이 자리잡고 있다. 한국적 군사혁신은 군사혁신의 보편적 개념과 원리를 한반도의 전략 환경과 국방 여건에 부합시켜 구현하는 것으로서, 그 지향점은 스마트 국방력의 건설이다. 주요 과업은 초연결 지능화 전력체계 개발·구축, 빅데이터·인공지능 기반 지휘통제체계 구축, 전투 클라우드 플랫폼 구축, 신개념 첨단 무기체계 개발, 전투공간 운영개념과 부대구조의 혁신적 발전 등이다. |

The aim of this paper is to explore an impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the war and military paradigm and a way of the revolution in military affairs that the Korean armed forces should pursue. Today, it is significant to examine the possibility of the next revolution in military affairs and its future direction. The fundamentals of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are hyper-connectivity and hyper-intelligence. It is important to analyze development trend in advanced weapon systems of major military powers. This paper demonstrates that the main features of the trend are the revolution in intelligence; surveillance and reconnaissance; the revolution in long-range; high precision and ultra-high speed missiles; the revolution in the reconnaissance-strike complex; the revolution in the missile defense system; the revolution in the space weapons; the revolution in the cyber warfare; the revolution in the directed energy and non-lethal weapons; and the revolution in the unmanned autonomous weapon systems. |
